About Us
Since 1995 Jerusalem has known the first advanced medical sports club in Israel, the one that combines two most popular among Israelis aspects, that is a modern gym and a studio for a variety of training classes. This combination became possible due to the unification of the skills of two professionals that resulted in a new foundation providing the internal and the external benefits: health and strength.
The internal aspect, health, is provided by a professional doctor Dr. Itzhak Ben-Yosef, whereas the external aspect is provided by a worldwide known trainer Michael Khuskivadze. This unification made it possible to work out personal programs for people of all ages according to their special requirements. Every personal program is based on rich professional experience and wide knowledge and both these factors allow a special solution for each problem.
The Gym
One of the features characterizing a man is STRENGTH. The staying-power and the rate of movement. With the development of technology people no longer use their physical strength in everyday life. Leading such a way of life a man ruins his health, as the lack of movement in everyday life often has a negative effect on the level of male hormones and on blood circulation. This problem may also cause heart diseases. In this way training muscles and stimulating blood circulation may prevent heart problems. Therefore in our gym it is possible not only to increase the muscle bulk, but also to improve your health to a good extend. Due to regular training in our gym you can strengthen your health, improve your appearance, lose weight and increase your muscle bulk under the supervision of our trainers.
Anti-ageing
With the help of our machines it is possible to improve the functioning not only of your body, but also of some certain muscles. It is also possible to get back to the normal health condition not only for those who used to be sportsmen, but also for those who have never gone in for sports. In addition to that, there is a special program for the elderly people in our gym, but to join it, you need to get your doctor's permission. Slimming
The fight with kilos is a hard fight. The war with extra kilos is especially complicated for women as the fat is not distributed equally in their bodies and accumulates in certain body parts. Even a hard and proper diet without training and physical efforts can result in the changes of body proportions or slimming of the parts which sizes women prefer to keep, actually, for example, breast. The most problematic parts, thighs and belly, will be reduced quickly, the decrease in everyday energy will be felt, there will be other problems with the body after such a diet. It is possible to prevent these problems when a diet is mingled with the properly designed training program. This way will lead to a healthy and quick slimming and a normal functioning of all body systems. You will be able to find everything necessary for the solution of this problem in our gym.
Posttraumatic Recovery
Our gym offers to women a possibility to increase the physical strength and to recover after any injury or serious disease, with the medical permission, of course. Along with that, the regular training in the gym may prevent some diseases, like varicous veins, osteoporosis. Our gym can meet the requirements of all the women who are willing to try sports for the first time and for professional sportswomen as well. Our location
Nestled inside a large modern office building, the IRON GYM, established in 1995, was known for 10 years only to its members and to those individuals who heard about it by word of mouth. In 2004, this jewel of the exercise world was totally renovated and modernized, and now a large sign outside its building has made it known to all. The IRON GYM is superbly located in the center of Jerusalem at 19A Rehov Keren Hayesod, at the foot of Rehov Achad Ha’am, just 100 meters from the major intersection of Rehov Ramban, Rehov Aza, and Rehov Agron. The gym is within easy walking distance of all residents of Rehavia, and Talbieh . Buses # 4,7,8,13,14,30, and 49 stop in front of the IRON GYM’s door, and buses # 9,17,19,22, and 32 stop nearby, making our gym easily accessible to most residents of Jerusalem.
Our facilities
Each of our numerous exercise machines is designed to assist our members to train their bodies towards whatever physical objectives they wish to develop. Together with our weights and other equipment, we offer over 1000 different exercises, depending, of course, on each member’s individual needs. In addition, we have a studio for a variety of training classes, including group aerobic exercise sessions for women, Spinning, Pilates and Bosu exercises, plus boxing training for men.
Our facility is equipped with men’s and ladies’ dressing rooms, including showers and private lockers, and we also offer the free use of our sauna, and have a room for massages.

This problem may also cause heart diseases. The proper training of muscles and stimulating blood circulation may prevent heart problems. The IRON GYM is designed to substantially improve the overall health of each member. The major objective of regular training in our gym is to strengthen your health, to improve your appearance, to lose weight and to increase your muscle bulk, under the supervision of our trainers.
With the help of our machines it is also possible to improve specific muscles, which may have deteriorated over the years. This is especially important for those individuals who are elderly, and who may not have exercised regularly for many years. We have designed special individualized programs for our elderly members, but to be certain that your physician agrees, we require your doctor's written permission.
Losing weight

Combining a proper diet with a professionally designed training program. will lead to a healthy and continuous slimming and a normal functioning of all body systems.
The “secret” of our success!
We believe that the IRON GYM is unique, because of our very special approach. Our gym is directed by Michael Khuskivadze. Misha, as he is known to all, is a worldwide renowned trainer, with 16 years of professional experience in his native Georgia of the former Soviet Union, and 11 years here in Jerusalem. Misha develops a personalized written training program for every new member. This program is reviewed by Misha with each member every 3 months, and changed in consultation with the member’s wishes and progress. There are probably no two members in the IRON GYM with the same program, because Misha carefully tailors the training program to each member’s needs and objectives. Misha, together with Arik, a young and very good trainer, supervise each and every member during their exercises at all times, making every member in the IRON GYM feel as though he has a private trainer working with him exclusively! Misha does not allow any member to exceed the recommended level of training, or to increase the weights of any exercise machine above the limit which he prescribes at each session. Exact written records are maintained in a separate folder for each member, where the training activities at every single exercise session are recorded. enabling each member to review his or her progress on an ongoing basis.
Other details
Our hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday, from 6:30am until 22:30, Friday from 8:00am until 14:00. The gym is closed on Shabbat and on the Chagim.
Members can join all day programs, where they can come any time during the day or evening.
Misha recommends that the optimum number of times is to exercise 3 times each week, but members are free to come as often or as little as they wish.
